Removal of a Wisdom Tooth

Also known as a third molar, is a surgical procedure that can be carried out within the practice to either resolve an existing issue or prevent one.

Wisdom teeth usually erupt between the ages of 18-25 years, some people never develop problems but for others they can become a source of constant pain.

Through evolution our adult jaws have decreased in size due to the relatively soft modern day diet. As a result the wisdom teeth may lack sufficient space to grow.

Wisdom teeth may become trapped and impacted, which can make them difficult to keep clean resulting in pain, infection, decay and gum disease of the tooth itself or surrounding nearby teeth and tissues.

What to expect

When you arrive for your appointment you will be greeted by our reception team. You will then be called through to the surgery to have a consultation with either Dr Jagprit Hear or Dr Benjamin Bushell who will examine the tooth and take any necessary xrays. Depending on the outcome of that consultation we may need to get you booked in for another appointment, however, we will endeavour to resolve the issue same day to ensure you are pain free as quickly as possible. The procedure is carried out within the practice under a local anaesthesia, and your clinician will ensure that you are numb, you will still feel pressure and movement but will not experience any pain.

Prices for surgical extractions and removal of wisdom teeth start from £180.00 per tooth.

We are accepting referrals from dentists for wisdom tooth removal and other oral surgery. Please contact the practice either via 01299 403000 or fill out the short form below to request further information
