Keeping your teeth healthy and happy

Why Is Oral Hygiene Important?

Regular visits to a dental hygienist is an essential aspect in keeping your gums and teeth healthy. Regular visits to a hygienist combined with dental check-ups and looking after your teeth and gums at home will greatly improve the appearance of your teeth and your oral health

Regular hygiene visits ensure that hidden and difficult-to-reach plaque and tartar is removed improving the health of your teeth and gums.

Hygienists can also help you maintain brighter, whiter teeth. Scaling with an ultra-sonic cleaner and polishing removes surface stains, leaving you with a fresher, brighter smile.

Your hygienist can also provide advice on how to improve your oral health through changes in lifestyle or diet, offer a tailored at home cleaning routine and teach you good cleaning techniques, allowing you to maintain a healthy smile at home.

What’s Involved?

A hygiene appointment consists of a 20 minute session which includes…

  • An initial full mouth examination assessing the health of your gums and teeth
  • The use of an ultra-sonic scalar which vibrates to remove any plaque or tartar build-up both above and below the gum line
  • A full mouth polish to remove any surface stains
  • Oral health advice and demonstration of interdental cleaning aids for you to use at home

There’s Nothing To Worry About…

While visits to the hygienist have been given a bad representation in the past, here at Bewdley Dental Practice we make it our priority to ensure that every visit is a comfortable and pleasant experience for all our patients.

Clean teeth

Our hygienists have built up many years of experience and all share a passion in providing patients with a pain-free, beneficial experience. We receive lots of comments from patients who are surprised at how pain-free the treatment was and how wonderfully clean and fresh their mouths feel following their visit.

We have a hygienist working with us at the practice everyday of the week. Often patients like to combine their check-ups with their hygiene cleans in one visit, giving the mouth a full MOT along with some TLC.

Please note that this is a private treatment and currently a 20 minute session is £49. If you are new to the practice, or have not had hygiene treatment before, we recommend that you have a check up prior to booking in for a clean.
