What to expect from Your Invisalign Journey at Bewdley Dental Practice
Stage 1 – Invisalign consultation
Your initial appointment is where one of our Invisalign providers will guide through the process of Invisalign. We will take an intra oral scan of your teeth which will create a digital simulation of a potential outcome. Your intra oral scan will be used as part of your clinical records and used to create your bespoke Invisalign treatment plan. A full radiograph of your mouth will be taken along with clinical photographs. These records will then be sent to Invisalign who will then create your ClinCheck.
Stage 2 – ClinCheck
A ClinCheck is a custom made 3d animated treatment plan. The ClinCheck provides us with the details of your plan which includes:
- The number of aligners you will need
- How long your treatment will take
- What your teeth will look like at the end of your treatment.
- You will have a digital view of the transformation of your teeth
Once you are happy with your Invisalign treatment plan, and a deposit or finance arrangements have been made, we can order your bespoke aligners.
Stage 3 – Fitting your attachments and Aligners
Once your Aligners have been received, we will make an appointment for you to have them fitted. This will include placing the white composite attachments to your teeth to assist with allowing the movement of your teeth. We will also explain how to care for aligners and the overall health of your mouth during the course of your treatment. The aligners will need to be worn for 22 hours a day. You will then have regular appointments to assess and monitor your progress and move you onto the next set of aligners. It is important that you keep these appointments as delays could adversely affect and delay your treatment.
Stage 4 – Removal of attachments and fitting your retainers
Once you have completed the course of aligners we will then make you an appointment to have the attachments removed. We will then provide you with removeable retainers. Teeth can move quickly and these retainers do need to be worn every night to prevent this.
Stage 5 – The final touches
To finish off your Invisalign journey, should you wish, we will can provide you with tooth whitening to enhance and brighten your new smile. Teeth whitening involves bleaching your teeth to make them lighter. Teeth whitening can’t make your teeth brilliant white, but it can lighten the existing colour by several shades. To this we will provide you with a solution safe to use at home. We can also provide you with options and details for composite bonding and a fixed retainer.
